2008 Bond Information

A May 10 bond election received unanimous approval by the Bryan ISD Board of Trustees on March 3. The Board will ask voters to approve the issuance of $37.5 million in bonds for the construction, renovation, acquisition and equipment of school buildings, including technology improvements. Land acquisition and the purchase of new school buses will also be included in the bond issue.

If approved by voters on May 10, 2008, the district's to-do list will include these Priority I projects:
- Land purchases for two future elementary schools;
- New construction to house Carver Early Childhood Center and Kemp Elementary;
- HVAC, finish upgrades and possible parking lot additions/changes for Jane Long and Sam Rayburn middle schools;
- HVAC and finish upgrades for Bowen Elementary;
- Renovations to Jones Elementary to accomodate additional grades;
- Rudder High School athletic facility needs, including field lighting and restroom facilities;
- Rudder High School auditorium lighting and equipment;
- Buses and technology.

If funding is available, Priority II projects may include athletic facility improvements, HVAC and roof repair/replacement and various facilities, and playground equipment.

Early voting will be April 28 - May 6 at the Bryan Municipal Building, 300 S. Texas Ave.
