College Preparatory Exams
THE SAT EXAM
SAT School Day provides schools, districts, and states a way to offer the SAT to juniors and seniors during school hours, on a weekday, expanding access to a globally recognized college admission test that's accepted at all U.S. colleges. Over 3.7 million students in over 3,000 districts and 9,000 schools have participated in SAT School Day. This opportunity has a profound impact on communities by opening doors to college, scholarships, and financial aid for every student.
SAT School Day is offered once each semester.
SAT School Day for SENIORS is offered during the Fall Semester in October.
SAT School Day for JUNIORS is offered during the Spring Semester in March.
The PSAT Exam
October 2024
The PSAT provides practice for the SAT and qualifies students with high enough scores as National Merit Finalists. BISD pays for all students to take these exams.
When College Board releases scores, we will notify students and parents and mail a copy of results home. For information on score interpretation after the test, students should visit www.collegeboard.org and login to "My College QuickStart" using the individualized access code printed on their score sheet.
Approximately 1.5 million students in about 22,000 high schools take the PSAT. Of those students, about 16,000 are named National Merit Semifinalists and about 34,000 earn Commended designation. National Merit Semifinalists are announced in September.
Rudder HS students in grades 9, 10, and 11 will have the opportunity to take a PSAT exam in October. Students are automatically registered so they do not need to sign-up/register to take the exams.
9th graders will take the PSAT 8/9 and 10th graders will take the PSAT on October 2, 2024.
11th graders will take the PSAT/NMSQT on October 9, 2024.
