History has been made again! For the first time in Bryan ISD, we are thrilled to announce that Branch Elementary teacher, Christi Byerly, has been named a finalist for the H-E-B Excellence in Education Awards! This nomination is a testament to the incredible difference Ms. Byerly has made over her 31 years in education.
The H-E-B Excellence in Education Awards recognizes outstanding educators across the state. This year, with more than 5,000 nominations and a rigorous judging process, Ms. Byerly is now one of 30 finalists within the State of Texas!
Finalists for the H-E-B Excellence in Education Award, along with their respective schools, will receive a cash prize ranging from $1,000 to $2,500, depending on the category.
“We’re so excited for Christi! We’ve watched her work tirelessly over the years to make sure her students are growing academically, socially, and emotionally to be well-rounded and successful. To see her be recognized for all she’s doing to impact her student’s lives is great,” said Amy Lively, Branch Principal.
All finalists will travel to Houston for the awards gala in May where judges will conduct face-to-face interviews. Winners will be announced at the awards dinner.
H-E-B tells us this honor is designed to recognize teachers and is based on the following criteria:
• Passion and commitment to the teaching profession
• Innovation and creativity in the classroom
• Professional growth and development
Join us in celebrating this incredible and historical accomplishment for Ms. Byerly and the Branch Bears!
