Davila Scholars compete in the UIL academic district meet against BISD and CSISD scholars.
UIL academic competition benefits scholars in the following ways:

The 2018-2019 Davila Chess Club Placed 1st in the Intermediate/Middle School Division of the Bryan Collegiate Scholastic Chess Tournament held last April
Speech and Debate Team
Member of the National Speech and Debate Association
Team practices once per week
Members learn speech & debate strategies as well as compete against one another
Team competes in competitions with an opportunity to compete at the National level
National Junior Honor Society
7th grade scholars are inducted into NJHS during the spring semester, pending an approved application
Scholars must earn and maintain a cumulative 92 average of all classes throughout the year.
Scholars complete 30 hours volunteering throughout our school & community.
Induction into NJHS is considered a high honor, and our members are held at a very high standard
Student officers are elected and preside over meetings
