Math Process Standards
Process standards describe the ways in which students are expected to engage in the math content. In order to build successfully independent math thinkers students will
apply mathematics to problems arising in everyday life, society, and the workplace
use problem-solving models
select tools and techniques to solve problems
communicate mathematical ideas, reasoning, and their implications
create and use representations to organize, record, and communicate mathematical ideas
effectively communicate mathematical ideas, reasoning, and their implications using multiple representations
display, explain, or justify mathematical ideas and arguments using precise mathematical language in written or oral communication.
Math TEKS
The Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) are the state standards for what students should know and be able to do. TEKS are provided for all subjects and grade levels for use in Texas classrooms.
